A couple of weekends ago I went for an adventure around Wellington and discovered this old cowshed on top of Mt Crawford.
It was quite the surprising discovery as Crawford is one of the major hills/mountains surrounding the city and its hard to imagine cattle having grazed in the area or workers being able to focus with that view.
Having seen similar buildings on our farm I would guess that are from around the mid 1900's though there doesn't seem to be any information about the farm. When I was up there it appeared that it was now used to graze a horse.
Love the mountains, water, and old buildings! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteI like the view...the cows should be contented at Milkman's View. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteThe view is a so nice it makes the run down buildings make a nice sight.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the view, but maybe you can get used to anything...
ReplyDeleteThe building itself looks to be in pretty good shape, considering how old it is...
What a great find! Your views are so different than the ones you get by just passing through the city.
