This summer has been one for the record books.
We have had an amazing three months of mostly fabulous weather and limited wind, something of a rarity for Wellington. This has meant many beach days and fish n' chip nights.
On a recent evening down there I was able to witness a true battle of wills. A number of seagulls had congregated in a wide circle around a group of people eating their dinner and were fighting for prime real estate closest to the food.
The first bird on scene was very protective of his territory and spent most of his time attempting to chase the competition away. Very funny to watch and after they left I noticed the seagull highway they left behind in the sand.
